Celtics 99, Kings 89: Jared Sullinger scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as host Boston pulled away from Sacramento late for its third consecutive win.
Jerryd Bayless came off the bench to score 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting for the Celtics, who last won three straight from Dec. 3-8. Jeff Green chipped in 17 points and Gerald Wallace recorded eight points, 12 rebounds and nine assists.
DeMarcus Cousins matched Sullinger with 31 points and 16 boards for the Kings, who have dropped five straight road games and eight of 10 overall. Isaiah Thomas added 24 points and Derrick Williams chipped in 11 points and 12 rebounds.
The Kings were within 74-73 on Jimmer Fredette's jumper with less than 11 minutes left, but Boston answered with a 15-0 run over the next four minutes to pull away. Sacramento missed seven consecutive shots during the pivotal stretch.
Sacramento came out hot and led 29-21 after one quarter, but the Kings were just 5-for-22 from the field in the second quarter as Boston surged ahead 49-46 at halftime. The Kings scored the first six points of the third quarter to go ahead 52-49, but Sullinger scored eight points during a 10-0 spurt and the Celtics never trailed again.
