Five more new int'l hotels opened in Nay Pyi Taw for SEA games

YANGON, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Five more new international standard hotels were opened in Nay Pyi Taw aimed at facilitating accommodations for the athletes and visitors in 27th SEA Games to be hosted by Myanmar in December, official media reported Thursday.

Hotels including Mingalarthiri Hotel, Excel Capital Hotel, Mann Myanmar hotel, New Ayeyar Hotel and Jade City Hotel were officially opened on Wednesday, said the New Light of Myanmar.

Two more hotels including Royal Golden Lotus Hotel and Famous Parami Hotel in Dekkinathiri Township are scheduled to be opened at the end of November.

Mingalarthiri Hotel opened 148 rooms and 70 villa rooms as its first phase. Excel Capital Hotel, with 85 rooms, has a ballroom that can hold 500 people.

Mann Myanmar hotel has 138 rooms while New Ayeyar hotel,88 rooms and Jade City hotel, 144 rooms.

A total of 700 Myanmar athletes will take part in 33 sports events which will be held on a grand scale at the 27th SEA Games in three main cities -- Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay and Pathein in Myanmar in December this year.

Apart from Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon will host the largest number of sports events including Kampo, weightlifting, wrestling, hockey, shooting, body-building and group B matches of men's football event at the existing sports facilities.

The 27th SEA games is scheduled to take place from Dec.11 to 22.
