NEW YORK, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks opened mildly up on Monday ahead of speeches from several Federal Reserve officials who are due to speak later in the day.
With a light economic calendar, investors are awaiting speeches from Richmond Fed President Jeffrey Lacker, St. Louis Fed President James Bullard and Dallas Fed President Richard Fisher for clues as to the timing of the Fed's first tapering.
