BRUSSELS, June 24 (Xinhua) -- The European Union (EU) will mobilize all instruments available and the member states will cooperate closely when the solidarity clause is invoked, according to a statement released in Luxemburg by the General Affairs Council of the EU on Tuesday.
A decision adopted by the Council Tuesday listed the rules and procedures for the implementation of the solidarity clause, which provides for the EU and its member states to act jointly in assisting another member state being the object of a terrorist attack or the victim of a natural or man-made disaster.
The decision requires the EU and its 28 member states to have a close cooperation of all relevant actors and to work hand in hand for a rapid, effective and coherent response, according to the statement.
