BERLIN, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Hamburg signed Berlin' s striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga until June 2019, both clubs announced on Friday.
After a long back and forth Hamburg and Berlin finally agreed on a permanent move of Lasogga, following a successful loan spell with 13 goals in 20 matches.
"Pierre settled in after a short period and became a key player due to his crucial goals. I am pleased that we are able to sign him on long term," Hamburg coach Mirko Slomka said in an official statement.
The 22-year-old Berlin striker has larges on Hamburg' s top-flight status as he helped the club to avoid relegation during his one-year loan spell.
"It is nice that my transfer is completed therefore my situation is resolved. I am pleased to stay at Hamburg," Lasogga said.
Hamburg nearly relegated into second division for the first time in club history last season. However, they were able to secure their top-flight status thanks to Lasogga's away goal in the playoff matches against second division side Greuther Fuerth.
