RIO DE JANEIRO, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's Football Confederation (CBF) Monday said it has accepted coach Luiz Felipe Scolari's offer to resign along with his backroom team.
Host and five time champion Brazil was dismantled in the World Cup semifinals with a disastrous 7-1 loss to Germany in the national team's worst defeat in its 100-year history. Brazil also slumped 3-0 to the Netherlands in the third-place match.
Scolari's contract ended after the World Cup.
