Rwanda appoints prime minister
KIGALI, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Rwandan President Paul Kagame on Wednesday appointed former public service and labor minister, Anastase Murekezi as the new Prime Minister of Rwanda.
"I am happy for the new appointment. I thank President Kagame for the trust he has had in me ever since I was the minister in the cabinet for so many years. I am looking forward to exercise my duties and contribute to the development of our country," Murekezi said.
According to the Rwandan constitution, the president can appoint prime minister and the entire cabinet.
