Urgent: 5.0-magnitude quake hits 226km S of Taron, Papua New Guinea -- USGS
HONG KONG, July 24 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted 226 km S of Taron, Papua New Guinea at 01: 23:58 Hong Kong Time on Wednesday (17:23:58 GMT), the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 17.94 km, was initially determined to be at 6.4786 degrees south latitude and 152.6579 degrees east longitude.
