TIRANA, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Tirana International Airport (TIA) will inaugurate the first flight from Belgrade to Tirana on 23 September, reported by Albanian Telegraphic Agency on Friday.
The national Serbian company Air Serbia will operate Belgrade-Tirana flight three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, with an ATR72 type of aircraft.
Air Serbia Chief Executive Officer Dane Kondic said:“The new service will offer customers from Tirana greater opportunities to expand travel and airline connections via Belgrade hub, with 38 and leisure destinations across Balkans.”
Official sources from Tirana International Airport (TIA) suggest that including the new flight to Belgrade, the number of destinations associated with Tirana International Airport amounts to 20.
“We believe that one of the benefits of it will be the promotion of trade between Albania and Serbia, which will bring an added value to the Airport and to the economy in general,” stated CEO of TIA, Rolf Castro-Vasquez.
