BRUSSELS, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Eurozone's seasonally-adjusted retail trade volume increased 0.4 percent in June from May and went up 2.4 percent year on year, Eurostat said Tuesday.
The 0.4-percent gain resulted from a 0.5-percent rise in the category of food, drinks and tobacco, a 0.3-percent growth for the non-food sector, and a 0.1-percent drop in auto fuel, according to estimates of the European Union's statistical office.
For the 28-nation EU, retail trade volume increased 0.3 percent and went up 2.5 percent year on year, it said.
The highest increases in total retail trade were registered in Germany, Austria, Poland, and Estonia, while the largest decreases in Finland, Portugal, Malta and Spain.
