SEOUL, June 26 (Yonhap) -- Two ruling party lawmakers will travel with President Park Geun-hye on her state visit to China this week, the presidential spokeswoman said Wednesday.
Reps. Chung Mong-joon and Cho Won-jin of the Saenuri Party will accompany Park as special members of the presidential entourage on her four-day trip starting Thursday, presidential spokeswoman Kim Haing said.
Chung, a seven-term lawmaker, is the chairman of a Korea-China parliamentary diplomacy association, and Cho, a two-term legislator, is the leader of a separate association for parliamentary exchanges between the two countries, Kim said.
Park is scheduled to hold her first summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping Thursday.
Beijing is the first leg of her trip, which will also take her to the ancient city of Xian in western China later this week.
