SEOUL, July 1 (Yonhap) -- GM Korea Co., the local unit of U.S. automaker General Motors Co., said Monday that its June sales declined 10 percent from a year earlier amid the economic slowdown.
GM Korea sold 70,237 vehicles in June, compared with 78,021 units the previous year, the company said in a statement.
Domestic sales dropped 25 percent on-year to 10,161 units last month while exports of completed vehicles fell 6.8 percent to 60,076 units, according to the carmaker.
GM Korea also said it exported 114,861 complete knockdown (CKD) kits of parts and components to be assembled into vehicles, down 15.1 percent from a year earlier.
In the first half, the automaker sold 401,492 vehicles, excluding CKD kits, down 1.9 percent from a year earlier, it added.
