BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Brunei, July 1 (Yonhap) -- South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se has briefly met with North Korean Foreign Minister Pak Ui-chun on Monday on the sidelines of a regional security forum here, a senior Seoul diplomat said.
Yun and Pak "shake hands" during a dinner meeting of foreign ministers attending the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), the diplomat who attended the dinner meeting said on the condition of anonymity.
It was not immediately clear whether Yun and Pak held a conversation.
The ARF has brought together foreign ministers of the six nations involved in the long-stalled talks aimed at ending the North's nuclear ambitions.
The six-party talks, which involve the two Koreas, the U.S., China, Russia and Japan, have been dormant since late 2008.
South Korean officials had ruled out a possible meeting between Yun and Pak during the regional forum hosted by ASEAN in Brunei.
