SEOUL, Aug. 1 (Yonhap) -- GM Korea Co., the local unit of U.S. automaker General Motors Co., said Thursday that its sales declined 23.8 percent from a year earlier.
GM Korea sold 46,257 vehicles in July, compared with 60,720 units a year earlier, the company said in a statement.

GM Korea also said it exported 82,801 complete knockdown kits of parts and components to be assembled into vehicles, down 26.8 percent from a year earlier.
For the first seven months, the carmaker sold 447,767 vehicles -- 78,507 vehicles in the domestic market and 369,260 complete vehicles in export markets -- down 4.7 percent from the same period last year.
GM Korea vowed to continue offering a series of customer-friendly promotions and marketing programs such as special benefits for South Korean customers.
