LOS ANGELES, Sept. 11 (Yonhap) -- Ryu Hyun-jin of the Los Angeles Dodgers suffered his sixth loss of the Major League Baseball (MLB) season on Wednesday in a shaky outing against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium.

Ryu pitched six innings and allowed 10 hits and three runs, as the Dodgers lost 4-1. The lefty didn't walk a batter and had one strikeout.

The South Korean dropped to 13-6 in his rookie season, and his ERA went up from 3.02 to 3.07. He also fell to 7-3 with a 2.23 ERA in 14 starts at home.

Ryu is now 1-1 in four starts against the Diamondbacks with a 5.48 ERA, having given up 14 earned runs on 34 hits in 23 innings. They're hitting .362 off the South Korean this year.

Ryu was making his first start since Aug. 30, after nursing a stiff back. Despite the extra rest, the left-hander looked shaky from the start and allowed two runs in the first inning.

The 26-year-old pitcher gave up three straight hits to open the game, the third being Paul Goldschmidt's RBI single to right-center. With runners on the corners, Ryu got Martin Prado to hit into a double play, which allowed Willie Bloomquist to score from third.

The Diamondbacks made it 3-0 in the second. Gerardo Parra hit a liner toward the left field corner and reached third on an error by Scott Van Slyke, and Tuffy Gosewisch drove him home with a double to left.

Ryu allowed at least a hit in every inning but the third. The Diamondbacks stacked their lineup with seven right-handed batters against Ryu, and they had nine of the 10 hits off the southpaw.

The Dodgers wasted a handful of chances to cut the deficit and stranded eight runners on base.

In the bottom second, Ryu stepped up to the plate with two outs and the bases loaded but grounded out to short to end the threat.

In the bottom third, following a pair of one-out singles, Adrian Gonzalez struck out swinging and Michael Young hit a grounder to short for a force out at second.

The Dodgers had two men on board with two outs in the bottom fourth, but Yasiel Puig grounded out to short.

In the fifth, Hanley Ramirez hit a one-out double, but he was stranded after Gonzalez and Young each grounded out to end the inning.

The Diamondbacks got another run in the top seventh on Goldschmidt's bases-loaded single. The Dodgers avoided a shutout when Puig belted a solo shot in the bottom seventh to make it 4-1.
