SEOUL, March 13 (Yonhap) -- The Korean National Military Symphony Orchestra will visit China this week to hold a concert to promote bilateral defense ties through cultural exchanges, Seoul's defense ministry said Thursday.
The 83-member symphony orchestra will visit Beijing from March 16-20 to perform at the National Center for the Performing Arts, one of the world's largest art centers.
It is the first time that a foreign military band to take the stage at China's landmark cultural center, the ministry said.
Their tour comes at the invitation of China's defense ministry after the military band of the Chinese People's Liberation Army played in Seoul last year to celebrate 20 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
The Korean band will play national anthems, martial songs and traditional songs of the two nations as well as popular theme songs of Korean dramas popular in China, it said.
