SEOUL, Aug. 5 (Yonhap) -- Samsung Electronics Co. plans to reveal a new Galaxy Note line-up on Sept. 3 in Germany, industry sources said Tuesday.
According to the sources, the world's No. 1 tech giant will showcase the new phablet, a cross between a smartphone and tablet PC, ahead of the IFA Berlin to be held Sept. 5-10, and has sent invitations to German media.
The Galaxy Note 4 is anticipated to feature a 5.7-inch-wide QHD with resolution of 2560×1440, along with a Snapdragon 805 processor and a 16 megapixel camera, industry sources said.
The current Galaxy Note 3 also has a 5.7-inch screen, but a 13-megapixel rear camera instead. Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 2 in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
Samsung's mobile division posted lackluster earnings for the April-June period, with its outlook for the third quarter also remaining poor due to heightened competition in the low-end smartphone sector.
