Paris, Feb 20 (EFE).- Spanish soccer club Real Madrid has a "verbal agreement" with Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti that could bring him to the Bernabeu next season, French newspaper Le Parisien said Wednesday.
"It's a verbal deal that has been agreed with Real Madrid," the daily reported, citing a source close to Ancelotti. "Both parties want to work together next season" if the Italian leaves Paris Saint-Germain and Jose Mourinho is no longer at the helm of the Spanish powerhouse.
The daily said that Ancelotti, who feels increasingly alienated from PSG's management, also has been in contact with Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool, although the calls from Real Madrid have been "insistent."
"Mutual distrust" between the Italian and PSG's Qatari owners began to surface in December, when the club gave Ancelotti an ultimatum after three consecutive defeats.
According to Le Parisien, Ancelotti might have been fired if PSG - which boasts stars including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Javier Pastore and Thiago Silva - had lost a UEFA Champions League group match against Portugal's Porto.
Ancelotti, who is under contract with PSG until 2014, guided his squad to a 2-1 victory in that contest but tensions between the manager and ownership have persisted ever since.
