London's living sculpture

Video: Trafalgar Square has a new landmark. In fact a new one every hour.

Scott Illman, dressed as a town crier, takes part in British sculptor Anthony Gormley's 'One & Other' on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square in London July 6, 2009. Built in 1841, and originally intended for an equestrian statue, the Fourth Plinth is now the location for specially commissioned artworks. Gormley's 'One & Other' will see different people stand on the plinth for an hour at a time, 24 hours a day, for 100 days without a break. (Stefan Wermuth/Reuters)

LONDON — Trafalgar Square's Fourth Plinth has become a showcase for contemporary sculpture. This summer it has become a platform for a new sculpture every hour — a live person.
