Cricket Board Bars Indian TV From Pakistan Match

The International Cricket Council (ICC) unexpectedly canceled the accreditation of Indian TV news outlets for the all-important World Cup showdown between India and Pakistan Wednesday, claiming that various channels have been violating the limits on the length and number of highlight clips they can show, according to the Times of India.
With expectations for the Indian team higher than ever, though, one wonders whether the ICC might have made the move to ensure that India's braying TV media avoids stoking passions, which will undoubtedly already be running hot.
TOI quoted Shazi Zaman, Broadcast Editor's Association president, as saying, "ICC is withdrawing accreditation of the entire electronic media. This means that we are deprived of covering not just the match but also the Indo-Pak political event. This is an infringement of media rights."
