Indian and Pakistani officials began their first formal peace talks since the 2008 Mumbai attacks on Monday, reports Reuters. But the meeting pushed into the background by the World Cup cricket match between the two countries, which will be played Wednesday.

The home secretaries of two countries — top officials responsible for law and order — will meet for two days to discuss various issues. But the talks are more or less a formality, with little expected to be accomplished on either side.

What's more important? Who wins the semi-final of the Cricket World Cup Wednesday in a loser-goes-home contest that will see the winner through to the finals in….
