Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf claimed Pakistan's intelligence agency was negligent and inept in failing to find Osama Bin Laden's hide-out in Abbottabad, but not complicit in hiding him, reports the BBC.

Musharraf denied that anyone from the Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate (ISI) knew the al-Qaeda leader was living in Pakistan, the news channel reported. But he told BBC Newsnight it was "very difficult to prove non-complicity" between the ISI and al-Qaeda elements.

In a statement reminiscent of the classic line from Casablanca, Musharraf said he had been "surprised and shocked" to discover Bin Laden had been living in the Abbottabad compound just 40 miles from Islamabad, the BBC said.

Perhaps if enough people keep saying it, the story will take.
