ABBA museum to open in Sweden

Always wanted to be a member of ABBA? Well, now you can, with the help of some computer simulationa at a brand new museum dedicated to the beloved singing group.

The first-ever ABBA museum opens its doors in Sweden on May 7. Agence-France Press decribes how the institution will allow visitors to live out their fantasies of fame:

For example, fans who have dreamt of becoming the fifth member of the band will be able to appear on stage with the quartet and record a song with them thanks to a computer simulation.

Some fans might even get to speak live with band members, an idea the Stockholm museum curator Ingmarie Halling told AFP came straight from ABBA's Frida (Anni-Frid Lyngstad) herself.

Tickets to the museum have already nearly sold out for the initial weeks, according to Salon, likely proof of the dedication of the 1970s band's fan base.

Die-hard fans probably still dream about ABBA band members reuniting after that awful 1982 breakup, but at least Sweden's new museum offers them a way to relive the musical glory of the band's united past.

"ABBA The Movie" came out in 1977. It was followed much later by the musical "Mamma Mia," featuring ABBA classics, which was later produced as a film.
