Former "Today" show host Ann Curry will walk away this week with a $10 million payout from NBC.

Curry, 55, is said to have signed a contract to co-anchor "Today" for $10 million a year and because she's only completed one year of the contract, she'll be given that much when she leaves the job, according to USA Today.

TMZ also reported that it was a long-term contract, meaning Curry will get that amount for three years. She is expected to leave her "Today" post this week and will likely become a foreign correspondent for NBC News.

According to the New York Post, NBC has a history of being generous with its employees when the media outlet lets them go. It paid late-night host Conan O'Brien a reported $45 million when he was fired from "The Tonight Show" in 2010, although that settlement included payment for his production company, which has nearly 100 employees.

The Post also reported that $10 million isn't big money when it comes to morning television. "Today" show co-host Matt Lauer has just re-signed his contract for a reported $25 million a year. "Today" is said to make $200 million a year in profit for NBC, making it the biggest moneymaker for the network.
