LOS ANGELES — Arsenio Hall is making his return to television next fall with a new talk show that has already been bought up by the US' top 10 TV markets, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Hall's new show is being distributed by CBS, who also oversaw the 1989-1994 run of "The Arsenio Hall Show," which catapulted the comedian to fame and rejuvenated the talk show arena that had been dominated by Johnny Carson's “Tonight” for almost 30 years, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The audience'a fist-pumping and barking welcome for Hall, which was referred to as the “The Dog Pound," became a pop culture signal in the 80s, ABC News reported.
The talk show peaked when then-presidential candidate Bill Clinton appeared as a guest, wearing sunglasses and playing a saxophone rendition of “Heartbreak Hotel,” solidifying the crossover between politics and entertainment, according to the LA Times.

"We're excited to welcome Arsenio back to the family and partnering on his new, late-night syndicated talk show,” CBSTVD president John Nogawski said Monday, according to the Reporter.
"Arsenio had a substantial following with his previous late-night show, and that same 18-34 audience is now right in the middle of the late-night core audience of 35-54. ...We are looking forward to the same success with Arsenio's seasoned expertise and appeal in this genre," Nogawski added.
After "The Arsenio Hall Show" was canceled in 1994 amid tension over his hour-long interview with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, Hall launched a self-titled sitcom in 1997 and hosted a "Star Search" revival in 2003, MTV News reported.
However, his recent win on Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" is what finally catapulted him back to fame, according to MTV.

"In the end I’m a comic, and nothing fits the talk show mode like a stand-up comic," Hall said in an interview with the Times on Monday.
Though Hall's new late-night show, which will premiere in the fall of 2013, will have stiff competition alongside "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" and "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," the entertainer is still confident that he will make a name for himself once again...especially since his program has already been bought by 17 of the top 20 markets, which cover 52 percent of the United States.
“I know there are a lot of shows, but I think there’s a space for my show," Hall told the Times.
