Jermaine Jackson wants to change his name to Jermaine Jacksun, TMZ reported.

Court documents reportedly showed the former Jackson 5 memberfiled the request with the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday.

The change was for "artistic reasons," the eldest brother of the late Michael Jackson reportedly said.

According to Sheknows.com, the name change was confirmed by the singer's rep, who linked it to the The Jackson 5's 1978 hit "Blame it on the Boogie":

"His actual name has not changed. It's just the spelling; [it's] one letter. It is a personal choice of Jermaine's, and it's not a big deal... Phonetically, it changes nothing. It is something he has chosen to do, and it's fair to say that you cannot blame this one on the boogie — you've got to blame it on the sunshine.""

Jackson, 57, has been touring with his brothers in recent months and has been promoting his book about his superstar brother, "You Are Not Alone."

It's something he spends a lot of time talking about on Twitter.
