His face pale and gaunt, Macaulay Culkin has developed a serious drug problem, spending up to $6000 a month on heroin and prescription drugs, the National Enquirer claimed.

It reports that the 31-year-old actor, best known for his starring role in the Home Alone movies, almost overdosed recently, and his friends fear next time it could be deadly.

Fox News reported that the actor's lawyers deny the reports he is addicted to drugs.

Numerous media outlets speculate his spiral into drug addiction was sparked by his breakup with actress Mila Kunis, who is now dating her former 'That '70s Show' co-star Ashton Kutcher.

“He’s been hooked for a year and a half, and his drug of choice is either heroin or oxycodone," the Enquirer quotes a source as saying. "Mac is surrounding himself with junkies and lowlifes. It’s a real tragedy."

The Examiner reported that another source claimed to have seen Culkin shooting up.

“Macaulay Culkin is surely dying. He’s addicted to heroin, oxyco done, Percocet and Vicodin… he needs serious help", the source went on to allege.

While Culkin was a superstar as a youngster, his attempts to get into Hollywood as an adult have failed. Fox These days he earns a living DJ-ing at clubs around New York.

Culkin's half sister Jennifer Adamson died of a drug overdose in 2000.

Addiction does not discriminate whether you come from the wealthy Park Place, or the cold park bench. I was able to find a solution to my life and get sober. I got help from New Life House and I've been sober for three years now. If you or a loved one is suffering they may be able to help. Check out their website at

I dont know if the guy is hung up on opiates or not but i do know that they chose a pretty unfair picture of him for this article. he looks bad in the pic but it's not because of heroine or any other opiate. opiates make a person's pupils really small and if anything his are dilated. so in my mind this skews the entire article. it's like a political piece that has a mean/unfriendly picture of a informed, thinking reader can determine a writer's stance without even reading said article

The downward spiral of Americas beloved child star Macaulay Culkin is the prime example of Hollywood self loathing and what happens when the spot light burns out. With no career, no girlfriend, and with every magazine labeling him as a drug addict one wonders just how much more Macaulay can take…before he cracks. Something his publicist is more than fully aware of.
