Michael Christian, one of the two radio DJs involved in the Kate Middleton prank call that turned tragic, is back on air.

Christian and his co-host Mel Greig called Middleton's room at the King Edward VII's Hospital — where she was being treated for acute morning sickness — pretending to be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, and were put through to the Duchess' private nurse.

However, the joke turned tragic when the nurse who forwarded the call, Jacintha Saldanha, was found dead the next day of an apparent suicide.

Christian was suspended from the Australian radio station 2Day-FM after the incident, as was Greig. He is now broadcasting on sister station Fox FM in Melbourne; Greig remains off-air, BBC News reported

"We are happy to have Michael back on air," said Rhys Holleran, CEO of the station's owner, Austereo,E! Online reported. "We have always supported our talent returning to work when appropriate, and today marks that occasion for Michael."

"We look forward to welcoming Mel Greig back when the time is right," he added.

Christian's return to the air comes weeks after British prosecutors said that charges would not be brought against the DJs, the Australian reported
