Mousketeer Annette Funicello dead at 70

Funicello died from complications related to her 25 year battle with multiple sclerosis.

Actress Annette Funicello, a former teen idol, best known for her time on the The Mouse Club died Monday at age 70.

Funicello died from complications after a 25 year battle with multiple sclerosis.

Funicello was one of the most popular Mousketeers, and was one of the original members of the Mickey Mouse Club television series that first aired in 1955, according to The Wrap.

She also stared opposite Frankie Avalon in the mid ‘60s in a number of popular beach movies. Her Disney movies included "The Shaggy Dog," "Babes in Toyland" and "The Monkey's Uncle."

Disney confirmed the death on Twitter.
