Oscars: Adele may lip-sync ‘Skyfall’ song

Adele is preparing a pre-recorded version of "Skyfall" as a backup to the live version for the Academy Awards on February 24.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported a source at the Academy Awards said "“Adele fully expects to perform the song live" but "just in case something goes wrong, there will be that pre-recorded track to have for a fall-back option — but only if needed."

It is the first time the British singer will perform the theme track to the James Bond "Skyfall" film, USA Today reported. The song is up for an Oscar for best original song.

"It's an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again," Adele announced in a statement. "It's something I've never experienced and probably only ever will once!"
