Jay-Z got a little help from a very special hype-man during his performance at the "Made in America Festival" in Philadelphia over the weekend. President Obama made an appearance in a pre-recorded video for the event where he touted Jay-Z as a man who truly lived the American dream.

Jay-Z really can be considered the epitome of how to make it in America. Hailed as one of hip-hop's most successful entrepreneurs, Jay-Z moved up from living in project housing in the Bronx, to putting his stamp on everything from music and producing, to clothing labels and restaurants.

In the pre-recorded video, Obama told concert goers that Jay-Z's story is "what Made In America means." He also said he enjoys listening to the rapper's music on his iPod, the AP reported.

Beyond fawning over one of his favorite music superstars, Obama also urged everyone to go out and vote, no matter what political party they are with.

This isn't the first time Obama and Jay-Z have professionally crossed paths.

In May, the rapper told CNN that he supported Obama's stance on gay marriage. At the time he said he did not believe Obama's position would affect votes adding, “It’s really not about votes, it’s about people. Whether it costs him votes or not it’s the right thing to do, as a human being.”
