Brazil's policing program for slums may soon be coming to Buenos Aires.
Argentina sent anthropologist Sabina Frederic to Rio de Janeiro last week to tour the City of God favela, reports O Globo.
The City of God slum was one of the first to receive a Police Pacification Unit (UPP) as part of an effort by the Brazilian government to take back the favelas from drug traffickers.
Brazil is hoping reclaim areas of Rio with the help of the police pacification units before it hosts the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016.
Brazilian authorities said Argentina might be interested in implementing a similar program in Buenos Aires slums.
The city has recently struggled to control violence in the poorest areas, say O Globo.
