"I delete the call and it again rings. There's an SMS every second. I feel like a mobile call centre," says victim

Unwanted calls? Spam SMS? Try sharing a number with Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan.

Well, not really.

When the "Big B" gave out a nine-digit phone number to a fan on air during "Kaun Banega Crorepati" (Who Wants to be a Millionaire), the Punjab's Puneet Bansal claims he got very unlucky.  Since mobile numbers in India have ten digits, fans just added a zero to the fictitious number that Bachchan gave out.  Which means Bansal has received about 10,000 calls from across the world (along with the holders of other permutations of the Big B's fake number).

Time to pay the piper?

Bansal sent a legal notice to Big B and "KBC" on Friday, according to the Times of India.

"I can't tell you what I am going through," said another victim, who doesn't see the point in taking the matter to court. "It doesn't make any sense. The damage has been done."

"I delete the call and it again rings. There's an SMS every second. I feel like a mobile call center," he told TOI.
