Would you let your daughter become Barbie?

After the brief fame of Valeriya Lukyanova, a 21-year-old Barbie who transformed herself through plastic surgeries, a surge of girls in Ukraine have tried to get the same look. Would you let your daughter do the same?

The Barbie look is catching on in Ukraine.

After the brief fame of Valeriya Lukyanova, a 21-year-old Barbie who transformed herself through plastic surgeries, a surge of girls in Ukraine have tried to get the same look, already reported on by GlobalPost.

More girls have come forward to show off their morphing skills.

Anastasiya Shpagina, a 19-year-old hairdresser and make-up artist, recently spoke on Ukranian television with her doll-like friends about her unique appearance and the rigors of maintaining it.

According to Forbes, she eats nothing but honeydew (assuming that means the melon) and little else.

She also wakes at 5 am every morning to do her make-up - time that seemingly could be spent on more important things.

The girls say that their look goes beyond a desire to be skinny and attractive but its also an escape from a cruel world.
