Drug dealer turned good Samaritan?

A pot dealer in Brookyn, New York, is raising eyebrows for donating half of his proceeds over two days last week to victims of Superstorm Sandy, The Huffington Post reported.

The dealer, who spoke to The Post on condition of anonymity, said he doesn't care about the implications of using drug money to help those in need, and donated about $700 to the cause.

"Look, there are probably some people down there [in the Rockaways] who want some marijuana -- but that's not going to clothe and feed them," he told The Huffington Post. "So in order for me to help, I needed to turn what I do into something concrete that I could give to them."

He said he alerted his clientele last Monday that he would be donating money to recovery efforts, and the calls rolled in.

Many people responding to The Huffington Post article said they didn't care where the money came from and that every bit helps, but others called for his arrest.

One commenter wrote, "Find this criminal and take all his "proceeds" and donate them to the hurricane victims, then take everything else he owns and throw this lawbreaker in JAIIL!!"

No word on whether victims got a free toke or two with their wool blankets.
