Cracker Jacks are getting Jack'D.

Crack Jack-maker Frito Lay will be introducing Cracker Jacks with caffeine next year year.

The new high-energy Cracker Jacks will come in two flavors: vanilla mocha and cocoa java, said ABC News.

Each will contain about 70mg worth of caffeine in the package, the equivalent of a Starbucks espresso or a 12-ounce Coke.

Not everybody is Jack'D about the new product.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest, a consumer nutrition advocacy group, sent a letter to the FDA saying that the product violated federal rules on food.

The group thinks the snack will give kids a caffeine overdose.

"Boxes of Cracker Jack are famous for having a toy surprise inside. But what parent suspects that Cracker Jack might come with a surprising dose of a mildly addictive stimulant drug?" the Center said, according to Drug Store News.

The company may, however, side-step the rules as the FDA regulations refer to caffeine and not coffee, which the new Cracker Jacks use.

A Frito-Lay representative said, according to the Boston Globe, "It is worth pointing out the regulation referenced in the Center for Science's letter to FDA speaks to caffeine -- not coffee -- and is not an exhaustive list of the safe uses of caffeine in foods and beverages."

The representative added, "Rather, it represents one particular recognized safe use."

The company said that the snack will be marketed to adults exclusively.
