Employees get inked with company logo in exchange for a 15% bonus

Times are tough out there in the job market. Employees are being asked to work harder and longer and raises are scarce.

But one New York City company has found a way to offer its employees a 15 percent raise while picking up some free marketing - in the form of a company logo tattoo.

Rapid Realty offered its 800 employees the option of getting a company logo tattoo in exchange for a raise. Forty of them are now sporting fresh new 'Rapid Realty' ink.

Stephanie Barry told CBS New York that she got her logo tattoo two weeks ago and, along with it, a permanent pay raise for every real estate transaction.

"I was like, why am I throwing my money away when I could give myself from a $25,000 to $40,000 for the same amount of work?" Barry said.

Rapid Realty owner Anthony Lolli said he got the idea for the tattoos from an employee who decided to get one on his own.

"He calls me up, he says 'Hey Anthony, I’m getting the logo on me.' I show up at the shop and I’m like 'this is cool, how can I repay you?'"

Lolli recently tweeted a photo of all of the employees who have the tattoo, saying they were "walking billboards!"

There are no size or location restrictions for the tattoo and the company even picks up the $300 tab for the ink.

Lolli himself hasn't been inked yet but he says he plans to.
