Joe Biden fans clamor for a television reality show centered around the VP's daily doings (VIDEO)

The cult of Joe Biden is growing, and now fans of the vice president's infamous gaffes and earthy, indisputably Irish nature are demanding that the White House green-light a reality TV show.

At the White House Petitions website — a remarkably effective venue for social change, as we're all aware — Biden-maniacs are now calling on the government to "authorize the production of a recurring C-SPAN television program featuring the daily activities and interactions of the Vice President with elected officials, foreign dignitaries and everyday American families."

Why Biden?

The petition creator, one Nathan B., of Washington, DC, writes that Uncle Joe "has a demonstrated ability to bring people together, whether at the negotiating table or at the neighborhood diner."

And of course, some of those wacky Uncle Joe antics could provide "a glimpse of the lighthearted side of politics even in the midst of contentious and divisive national debates."

The petition had 403 signatures at the time of writing, but 24,597 are needed to reach the 25,000-name goal. Get in there, Biden Fan Club members! (This does not, as far as we can determine, actually exist — yet.)

Might there be some PR benefits to the Obama White House if they decide to allow Joe Biden to become the loveable television mascot of the Democratic party? Well, probably.

But will the White House really authorize a reality TV production, placing the man second-in-command to the Leader of the Free World in the same dubious ranks as Snooki and the Kardashians? Doubtful.

But hope springs eternal in the human heart — especially one unhealthily obsessed with a 70-year-old world leader from New Hampshire with an unusual affinity for beef jerky.

In the meantime, Joe Biden recently appeared on popular comedy "Parks and Recreation." And you can always purchase a "Joe Biden Fan Club" t-shirt for a mere $18.00!

Here's a video of Joe Biden and actor Kal Penn fist-bumping "for our friends on the internet." Folks, Christmas is here again.
