SÃO PAULO, Brazil — Brendow Cézar Branca Glione, 19, carjacked a 66-year-old man in the town of São José, Brazil, while wearing an obviously fake beard attached to his face with a visible elastic.

On Friday night, Glione robbed the man of his car, cell phone and wallet while wearing his embarrassingly obvious disguise and holding a .38-caliber revolver to his neck. The man had planned to fill up his car with gas but forgot his cell phone inside. When he was returning to his vehicle after having gone back into his house to get his phone, he saw Glione. The carjacking left the victim scared, but also a bit puzzled, according to Rádio Santa Catarina.

"I thought it was a bit strange — even though I was scared — I noticed that his beard was fake," the victim told Rádio SC. "I gave him everything, but I was really afraid, so I started to scream. Then someone I knew passed by and asked what had happened, and he called the police."

Military police then found Glione in the stolen vehicle — still wearing the fake beard — and stuck in a traffic jam, reported Rádio 102 FM. The .38, its ammunition and the beard were taken in as evidence, and the car, cell phone and wallet were returned to the victim.

"He reacted calmly, but when I asked, he confessed that he had stolen the car," a police officer who participated in the arrest told Rádio 102 FM.

"The only thing that's left is the trauma," the victim told Diário Catarinense. "I'm really shocked. I've lived in this neighborhood for years and I never thought I'd be a victim in front of my own house."
