Margaret “Peggy” Mackenzie McAlpine of the United Kingdom recently jumped from a 2,400-foot peak in northern Cyprus to win back her Guinness World Record title of “Oldest Female to Paraglide Tandem,” the Sunday Express reported. She’s 104 years old.

McAlpine first paraglided into the Guinness Book of Records in 2007, when she was 100 years old, according to the Sunday Express. But McAlpine’s record was snatched away last fall by Mary Allen Hardison, a grandmother from Ogden, Utah, MSNBC reported. Hardison, whose paragliding instructor described her as “hard-core,” went paragliding to celebrate her 101st birthday in Sept. 2011.

In an interview with Today.com at the time, Hardison said it was important for older people to keep going and stay positive because, “Friends don’t like a grumpy person.”

McAlpine, who uses a wheelchair, told the Sunday Express that she enjoyed every minute of her second paragliding jump, which seems likely to be recognized as the new Guinness World Record. “It was better than the last time,” she said. “I would certainly like to do it again – especially if anyone takes my record."

McAlpine told the Sunday Express that she’s always "loved heights" and first flew in an airplane in the late 1920s, as the passenger of aviation pioneer Sir Alan Cobham. At age 80, at the urging of her grandchildren, she did a bungee jump in Essex, UK.
