Editor's note: The original version of this story, and its headline, referred to the wrong airline. It was JetBlue, not Jetstar. It has been corrected.
The headline is a head-scratcher: "Creep in jet stream; Midair 'pee' chaos"
Until you read about the alleged "chaos" aboard JetBlue's red-eye flight from Portland, Ore., to JFK when, according to the New York Post, a drunken teenager allegedly began to urinate on a girl, aged 11.
Apparently the intoxicated 18-year-old, identified by AOL Travel as Robert Vietze of South Warren, didn't realize he hadn't quite made it all the way to the bathroom.
In a vaguely endearing twist, the the 6-foot-4, 195-pound Vermont youth is quoted by the Post as saying to authorities: "I was drunk, and I did not realize I was pissing on her leg."
Vietze had reportedly consumed eight alcoholic drinks, although it was unclear he had been served all eight aboard Flight 166.
Worse still for Vietze, the sleeping girl's father returned form the bathroom to find the man "midstream," the Post writes.
Flight attendants had to separate the men as the enraged father appeared to be on the verge of violence, witnesses told the Post.
Six police officers met the Flight 166 on arrival. Four officers were for the urinating teenager and two to help another passenger who, in somewhat less dramatic fashion, began complaining about chest pains about an hour before landing.
Calls for a doctor on board reportedly went unanswered; and other than to report that the man eventually vomited, his health status was not known.
The 18-year-old was reportedly released after being charged with indecent exposure.
According to AOL, it's not the first time a passenger has peed on another mid-flight:
Back in June, a drunk New Zealand man on a Jetstar flight from Auckland to Singapore peed on the plane's carpet, a man's leg and a woman's scarf after drinking whiskey out of Burger King cups with friends. The man, Michael Aitkin, eventually came forward and apologized profusely to his fellow passengers for his actions.
