Wendy's is appealing to diners with slightly more expensive tastes by ditching regular burgers in favor of lobster and caviar. Diners in Japan will be able to sample two new exotic burgers, the Lobster Surf n'Turf and the Premium Caviar and Lobster.

The new sandwiches will join already existing prime fare, including a foie gras and truffle burger. The burgers are priced at about $16 and take advantage of the current low price of lobster meat, reports the Huffington Post.

The Huffington Post describes the caviar burger as "both claw meat and lobster salad, topped with a mustardy mayonnaise and sprinkled with caviar."

Sadly, Americans hoping to bite into a lobster-topped beef patty are out of luck. The chain has not released any plans to offer the sandwiches outside of Japan.

Wendy's returned to the Japanese fast food market last year after pulling out in 2009, reports the Los Angeles Times. The Times reports that Wendy's is facing tough competition from competitors McDonalds and KFC and is relying heavily on expansion into foreign markets.

Market research firm Harris Interactive ranked America's favorite fast food restaurants and Wendy's came in at number three.
