Obama to Brazil?

Newspaper says U.S. president will travel to Brazil

Without citing sources, the newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo says Barack Obama will travel to Brazil in March. So far there’s been no official announcement of the visit by either government and a date has yet to be confirmed. But Folha says the trip is a sign of warmer relations between the two countries under Brazil’s new president, Dilma Rousseff. While former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s friendliness toward Iran had angered the U.S., Lula’s successor has been more critical, particularly of Iran's treatment of women. And observers are taking this as one sign that Rousseff hopes for closer ties to the White House.
