GlobalPost: Internships

GlobalPost has seven openings for interns for the upcoming Spring semester.

Five interns will work closely with the editorial team, assisting regional editors with research and web production, including photo selection, social media and search engine optimization. Interns will also have a chance to work with a GlobalPost editor on an article of their own, from story conception to publication, and will leave the internship with at least one clip.

A sixth intern will work closely with our Social Media team on individual projects as well as creative strategies. Must bring innovative ideas and a willingness to experiment. A large Twitter following is a plus!

A seventh opening is for a technical intern who would like to spend the semester assisting our Director of Technology with the management and development of the GlobalPost website. At minimum, applicants for this position must be comfortable working in HTML and CSS and have basic familiarity with the Drupal content management system. While not required, knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, and experience with web development and web design are highly desired. GlobalPost welcomes all levels of skill but requires drive and desire to learn.

The duration of the internship will be (roughly) from Jan. 28 - May 8. We are looking for students who can potentially commit to 5-10 hours per week.

If you are interested in any of these positions, please email a resume, cover letter and any relevant clips to elodish @ globalpost.com and kdermody @ globalpost.com with the subject "Spring internship application." Please let us know which internship(s) you are interested in and which days/hours of the week you would be available to be in the office. Deadline for applications is Dec. 17.

All GlobalPost internships are unpaid and require the approval of your college or university.
