International Sports Desk, Jan 2 (EFE).- Australia's Lleyton Hewitt beat Spain's Feliciano Lopez 7-5, 6-3 Thursday in the second round of the Brisbane International tournament in Brisbane, Australia.
Hewitt got four breaks in the first set to take it 7-5.
The 32-year-old Hewitt, a former world No. 1 and two-time Grand Slam winner, used a strong service game to roll over Lopez 6-3 in the second set and book a spot in the quarterfinals.
The feisty Hewitt now has a 4-0 career record against the 32-year-old Lopez, who has never won a set against the Australian.
Hewitt's next opponent will be Romania's Marius Copil, who beat France's Gilles Simon.
