From Zimbabwe to Hong Kong: Questions over Mugabe's kin

Questions are being raised in Hong Kong as to why the daughter of Robert Mugabe, the reviled president of Zimbabwe, is being allowed to attend university in Hong Kong under an alias. The case came to light after Mugabe's wife, Grace, is said to have assaulted a photographer who shot photos of her shopping in luxury stores in the city.

The Foreign Correspondents Club of Hong Kong protested to Zimbabwean authorities after freelance photographer Richard Jones said he was assaulted by Grace Mugabe on Jan. 15. Bona Mugabe, the daughter, is studying at Hong Kong University under an assumed name, university authorities told local reporters.

Questions are also being raised as to why Mugabe and his relatives pay their hotel bills at five-star hotels in cash, transactions that, under Hong Kong law, are supposed to be reported to authorities so they can investigate for possible money laundering infractions.
