The German lady says sell (sometimes buy)

The global economic crisis hasn't produced many laughs. But it has produced at least one or two funny observations.

One of my favorites has been the face of Simone Wallmeyer — a German trader in Frankfurt who has the fortune (misfortune?) of sitting in front of the DAX chart.

Thanks to financial press photographers you can gauge the performance of the German market, and by extension the rest of the financial world, by the expression found each day on Simone's face — sometimes worried, sometimes calm, sometimes harried, sometimes even a little afraid.

She could relax a bit today: the German market rose for the first time in eight days.

Here's a gallery of Simone's many moods. Kudos to our friends at Passport, one of the most enjoyable blogs out there, who first pointed this out.
