The Council of Economic Advisers has released its Economic Report of the President for 2009, which details the problems we had in 2008, and what might happen in the months ahead.
It makes for pretty good reading, as far as these typically dry reports go.
Then again, the U.S. economic story doesn't typically include phrases like "vulnerable institutions failed," "global financial system in crisis," or "financial stresses increased sharply to levels not seen during the post-World War II era."
