Colombia or bust?
In his reflections to reporters on the success of the Summit of the Americas, Colombia's President Alvaro Uribe also looked ahead to the next summit, offering Colombia as the host four years from now. The gesture is not new: Colombia's campaign started at the last summit in Mar del Plata, Argentina.
But now, it appears Colombia might step up the campaign, taking the same approach Uribe says his government takes with diplomacy in general: "We will continue working on this with prudence but with insistence."
