After four years living elsewhere in Africa - reporting from Sierra Leone in the west to Tanzania in the east, from Niger in the north to South Africa in, well, the south - I am moving to Kenya.

I won't miss the humidity, the open sewers or the tropical diseases of Accra, Ghana's capital, which has been home for the last couple of years. I will miss the little-reported stories, the region's vibrant hecticness, and the long journeys to faraway places.

A move and a change are always exciting, more so when there's something new to get involved in. GlobalPost is set to be what newspapers ought to be and it's going to be fun to be involved right from the start, reporting from a country that is one of the continent's bellwethers.
